Technology Training for Teachers in Costa Rica with Middlebury College
TeachUNITED is a nonprofit organization that works side-by-side with educators in rural communities in Costa Rica to transform teaching and learning. We partner with rural schools for an intensive two-year program that includes on-site teacher coaching, a robust training program, and mobile off-the-grid technology. TeachUNITED delivers an arsenal of tools and support to help our partner schools join the ranks of the most successful schools on earth. Once the two-year program is complete, schools become part of the global TeachUNITED network, where teacher graduates mentor the next cohort of educators to create long-term, sustainable change.
Middlebury College has partnered with Team4Tech to provide immersive service learning programs for students interested in technology and education. As part of this program, Team4Tech volunteers will assist in at least one of the following projects: Create a short film showcasing TeachUNITED’s work in Costa Rica for marketing, motivational and educational purposes; assist in the installation, upgrading and documentation of educational hardware and software at local schools in Costa Rica; plan, advertise, and teach a community workshop on technical tools for small business; and conduct research to measure the TeachUNITED program’s impact.
