Winter 2016 Newsletter

This year is off to our busiest start yet, with four exciting projects in the first quarter. Read below for an overview of the impactful work done by VMware volunteers with CARE India in January, and our upcoming projects with Adobe, Autodesk, Box and Facebook volunteers in Cambodia, South Africa and Vietnam.

We are also excited to announce the release of our first ever Team4Tech Impact Report! With the support of 165 volunteers from 15 companies over the past three years, we have reached more than 28,000 students and teachers in seven countries. Please check out the full report for inspiring profiles of our partners and the positive change you have helped make possible!

In March, volunteers from Box will continue Team4Tech's work with Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) to expand upon previous teacher training in 21st century education, design thinking, STEM and English language learning software. They will also support the implementation of a Student Information Management System (SIMS). These efforts will help JWOC expand economic opportunities for over 700 underserved students in Siem Reap.

South Africa

This April, volunteers from Autodesk will return to South Africa to continue our partnership with the Greater Stellenbosch Development Trust (GSDT) in Khayamandi Township, outside of Cape Town. This group of volunteers will continue teacher training to improve outcomes in students' math scores, engagement and collaborative problem solving. The volunteers will incorporate elements of design thinking, 3D printing and Autodesk software throughout the project.

Volunteers from Adobe, Facebook and Pearson will return to Vietnam in March for Team4Tech's third project with Orphan Impact. This year, they will help Orphan Impact improve the career preparation program for learners preparing to graduate from the orphanages. Watch this video for a look back to our very first project with Orphan Impact in 2014.
