IT Infrastructure & Teacher Workshops | Havre Public Schools with CoSN
The VMware Foundation's Good Gigs Treks are leadership development opportunities for people to learn and grow through immersive Service Learning by applying their professional skills for global impact with a small, diverse, and cross-functional team of colleagues. The Good Gigs Trekkers worked with staff from the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), the leading US professional association dedicated to education technology leaders, and teachers and staff from the Havre Public Schools, located in northern Montana near the Canadian border. Havre Public Schools serve approximately 1,400 students, 43% of whom are on free and reduced lunch, and 35- 40% of whom are of American Indian background.
The VMware Good Gigs Trek team upgraded and virtualized servers, provided technology workshops for 50 teachers on Google applications and maker educational tools, and hosted a fun technology day for 150 students and parents.
